Soccer players, there is no need to put your cleats away, as the Ames Soccer Club will conduct a winter training program on the synthetic turf surface at the Bergstrom Indoor practice facility on the ISU campus. The Bergstrom facility is the premier location for indoor soccer in the state of Iowa!
The program consists of weekly training sessions for everyone and two game days that will develop players technically, tactically, physically, and psychologically. The curriculum will have a high focus on technical development helping each player become more comfortable on the ball resulting in better, quicker decision-making.
Last year’s program attracted almost 300 players, ranging in age from 4 – 18 years old. We anticipate that spaces will fill up very quickly so make sure that you register early so that you do not miss out on this exciting and fun program.

Fast Feet Indoor Soccer League Nov/Dec 2008
Hard-Court Short-sided Soccer In Partnership with Ames Park and Recreation
Sharpen your soccer skills this November and December in the “Fast Feet” Indoor Soccer League in Ames, being offered for U9/U10 and older players, including adults! Partnering with Ames Park and Recreation, we are able to move to new spacious digs out at the Ames Middle School.
This is a small-sided game played with a weighted ball that puts a premium on quick passing and decision making. Games are 40 minutes non-stop with substitution on the fly. Play is 5 on 5 (including keeper).
Using specially weighted balls, the number of touches on the ball and pace of this game put high demands on the technical ability and quick, quality decision-making of players. This is a brand of soccer used to develop highly skilled players all over the world. Brazil, Spain and Portugal, for instance, are countries where the popularity of this version of indoor soccer is credited in large part for the composure and creativity that their top soccer players show with the ball at their feet. Not to be neglected, this is also a game that is a lot of fun to play.
Players will register as individuals and teams will be formed with an eye to havin good competitive balance. If you would like to register as a full team, please contact Nuno Ferreira (268-8002, 451-4425, Nunofh@isunet.net) directly.
