Spring 08 Coaching Clinics February 10
ASC and ISA will host coaching clinics at the Bergstrom indoor Facility on Feb 10 for U5-U12 coaches from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. ASC will pay for the clinic for any of our coaches. Gary Eyles and Ian Bradley will be the instructors for the different age groups. Download the application and send it in ASAP!
Fall 07 Coaching Clinics
ASC will host two USSF coaching clinics aimed primarily at U10 and older coaches this summer, the USSF E Certificate (August 17-19th) and the USSF D License (August 3-5th & 10-12th). The club will pay all ASC coaches' entry fees. These courses will fill quickly, so sign up now! In order to get ASC to pay your fee, please return the form to Gary Eyles (5201 Cervantes Dr., Ames 50014), rather than sending it in to ISA.

Coach Training
Each season, Gary Eyles will conduct coaching clinics aimed at our new and continuing coaches at various ages. For Spring 2007, the USSF U6/U8 and U10/U12 coaching modules were held in Ames at the Bergstrom practice facility. We anticipate hosting a D licence in the late summer of 2007.
A note on referees
All games U9/U10 and older will have assigned certified referees. All U6 games should have parent referees. Most U8 games will have certified referees, but teams should be prepared to have parent referees. All teams should have at least one referee (parent/brother/sister/etc.). The younger teams will need them for league games, and the older teams will need them for tournaments and occasionally to fill in as linesman.
Game Cancellations and Rescheduling policies
U6-U10 games are canceled by agreement of the coaches unless we close the complex. We encourage coaches to play games as scheduled when posssible and conditions are reasonable. Light rain is usually not reason to cancel a soccer game.
If you cancel a U8 or older game in advance for any reason, please let Charlie Ramsay know (641-210-9870) and he'll work with you to reschedule a game. He'll keep track of the fields and get you a ref; please give him at least 10 days' notice if at all possible. Please do not schedule a game over practice time.
U6 games may be rescheduled at the coaches' convenience, since the club does not provide referees and there should not be an instance in which all the fields are full.
About Jewelry
All jewelry must be removed for games. This includes earrings and watches, in addition to things like necklaces. This is a matter of safety. We cannot deny that "taping" of earrings occurs on occasion, but it is not officially allowed, is not as safe, and a referee is well within her/his rights to insist that earrings (whether just recently pierced or not!) come out for games.
