Coaching Education

Ames Convention and Visitors Bureau

The Ames Soccer Club strongly supports coaching education and development. We hold our own clinics and support our parent and staff coaches' attendance at coaching clinics. In general, parent coaches will have all USSF coaching clinics paid for with club funds up through the USSF D license or NSCAA equivalent.

It is the stated policy of the Board that we want all parent and staff coaches to have appropriate coaching licenses.

U10 and older Fall 07 Coaching Clinics

ASC will host two USSF coaching clinics aimed primarily at U10 and older coaches this summer, the USSF E Certificate (August 17-19th) and the USSF D License (August 3-5 & 10-12). The club will pay all ASC coaches' entry fees. These courses will fill quickly, so sign up now! In order to get ASC to pay your fee, please return the form to Gary Eyles (5201 Cervantes Dr., Ames 50014), rather than sending it in to ISA.

U6-U12 Coaching Clinics

For Spring 2007, the U6-U8 USSF Coaching module and the U10-U12 Coaching modules were presented, free of cost to Ames Soccer Club coaches, at the Bergstrom indoor practice facility on February 18.

The coaches that attended this certification were: U6/U8 Module – Tyler Anderson, Jeff Beetham, Anna Hohenstein, Bill Koenig, Jim Madsen, Stephan Marette, Perry Rathe, Tom Sailer, Chris Strawhacker, Tyler Thoen, and Lynn Vannoy; U10/U12 Module – Rick Beste, Shawn Goedken, Gregg Hadish, Michael Norris, Antonio Perdomo, Giles Slocum, Tom Wierson, and Dave Wohlsdorf. Congratulations to all these coaches, and thanks to them for all their hard work for the club.
