Playing for Spring 07
Returning U11-U14 Players
Players on U11-U14 teams need to make a non-refundable $60 "commitment deposit" to fix their spot on Spring 07 teams by December 15. Please make checks payable to Ames Soccer Club and mail to Teresa Kaloupek at 5317 Kansas Drive, Ames, 50014. Include a note with your player's name and team. Teresa will also receive checks in person at Fast Feet during the U11-U14 time on December 8 and 15. Players on financial assistance or with carry-over credit dut to injury should still write a note to Teresa to make your Spring commitment. The remainder of Spring registration fees and team tournament fees will be collected in February.
New Players wishing to join U11-U14 teams
Spots on U11-U14 teams will be available, but in keeping with league and club policy, new players must participate in a "tryout" and be evaluated by our Director of Coaches, Gary Eyles. This will ordinarily mean attending one of our Winter sessions or an early pre-season workout with the team. Please contact Gary Eyles to talk about joining a team for Spring at 515/360-5117 or garykix@mchsi.com.
Procedures for Fall 08 Teams
Team formation for Fall 08 will follow the traditional pattern, but tryouts will start a little earlier, running from June 2-16. The tryout fee is $15, which includes a tryout T-shirt. The fee rises to $20 on May 20.
Download the tryout form here.
Offers to join the U11-U13 teams will go out June 16, and offers to join the U14-U19 teams will goout June 26.
These are the steps to accept your invitation to join the team:
- Reply to Gary Eyles verbally or by email that you will join the team, preferably within 24 hours of getting the offer.
- Visit the LeagueOne.com registration site, where you will sign up with your name/address/birthdate, etc. and make your $50 deposit. This must be done by July 2.
Please note: all players (new and returning) have to click on the "new player" option, not the "returning player" option. This is because the ISA is building a new database from scratch using this new system with "LeagueOne", not "Active.com". This is a one-time glitch.
- If you need a uniform (new player or U11 player), you will now need to visit the uniform page to place a single order. The base price of a full kit (includes shorts, two jerseys, two pairs of socks, and warmups) with the lower group shipping rate is $175. You may also order a club bag, extra socks, and so on. In order to get in on the bulk order (cheaper shipping and guaranteed delivery before the season), you must order by July 2.
- Unfortunately, the navy socks with yellow trim are no longer being manufactured. Since the club's goal is for players to match on the field (and since socks wear out pretty quickly anyway...), returning players wil need to purchase new socks for $14.75 (2 pairs). Returning players should also use the uniform page link to place their sock orders by July 2. Returning players may also order other "replacement parts" on an a la carte basis.
Please note: We are beginning to show what our on-line registration costs are so you understand why we sometimes ask our older players for payment by check when it is practcal. As a first step in that direction, all players will pay the LeagueOne.com fee on their $50 deposit. It will be added on at the end, and your total bill will be closer to $55.
You may pay your full registration fees at the time you place your deposit. The LeagueOne.com fee will be added to the full amount.
Financial assistance is available for families in need. Please download our form and contact Ralph Ackerman directly at 292-5203 or racker@iastate.edu. Alternative payment plans can also be worked out.
Fees for the 2007-2008 season are $260 for U11 and U12 and $280 for the U13 and older teams, which is the same as for 2006-2007.
Procedures to Pay for Fall 07 Season
A series of tryouts/evaluations was held in June 07 to establish teams, in accordance with our league rules.
If you did not try out, but would like to play on a U11-U19 team, you will need to contact Gary Eyles to see if there is a roster spot available and to arrange a potential tryout. Call Gary at 515/360-5117 or email at garykix@mchsi.com.
Tryouts are exclusively for our U11 (5th grade) and older teams. Completely open registration is available for our U6-U10 teams.
