Butter Braid Fundraiser - Sales currently on!
As we did last year, we will have one "traditional" fundraiser for this school year, the sale of Butter Braid pastries. The sales period runs from Aug 24 through the week of Sept 6-9, with delivery Sept 27-30. This year's flood damage makes the fund raising especially critical.

ASC Tailgate at ISU Soccer (Previously Aug 20) Postponed
The ISU soccer match we had planned to have our Tailgate at has been rescheduled for a new location. We will reschedule a new tailgate party.

Fall 2010 U11-U19 Team Information
If you wish to play in Fall in the U11-U19 age groups but were unable to attend the regular tryouts, please contact Gary Eyles (515-360-5117) to arrange for a special tryout. All uniform orders should already be in. If you have any questions on uniforms, contact Cynthia Jenks.
Congratulations to Nuno Ferreira
Our assistant director of coaching, Nuno Ferreira earned his "A" coaching license from the USSF this past winter. This certification is the same as held by many intercollegiate coaches. Congrats to Nuno and it's great news for our club as well!
Thanks and congratulations also to parent coaches Casey Bothwell, Adrianna O’Neil, Justin Gleason, Kirk Stevens, Hector Angus, Claus Niesen, Nicole Singer, Rod Donavon, Ellen Wanamaker, and Brian Cassaidy, who got their age-group certifications from the U6-U12 age groups!

Karla Sexton named recipient of "Joe Merchant Volunteer of the Year" award
Ames Soccer Club is proud to name Karla Sexton its recipient of the Joe Merchant Volunteer of the Year award.
Many of you would recognize Karla because she has spent a lot of time around the soccer fields - but you may not know her. Karla has a son on our U15/U16 boys team and has been a member of the Club for many years. During that time she has been a very supportive and active member. Karla has always been a willing volunteer for our various tournaments and events performing roles such as field marshalling, helping with concessions, directing traffic - anywhere help was needed. Karla has also qualified as an entry-level referee and can be seen during many fall and spring Saturday mornings officiating within our younger program. Adult referees are very scarce, so it's great to see a "Soccer Mom" taking up the whistle and helping fill a real void within youth soccer. Karla exemplifies that unheralded volunteer that helps our Club succeed.

Used Uniform Market (all ages)
Duck Worth Wearing is our new spot for used uniform exchange (all ages). Have jerseys or shorts that are too small? Need a larger jersey? Check out Duck Worth Wearing. It's a consignment shop, where they will sell the item for 50-60% of the retail price and the previous owner gets 40% of the sale price. Bring your used items in anytime throughout the year. Our local U5-U10 games are played in a local league we administer, the Central Iowa Soccer League (CISL, pronounced "sizzle"). Game schedules, rules, directions to other fields, and all that stuff are posted on the league web site: www.cisleague.org.
